Here's the thing:
The artistic community is all up in arms about the $uicide Girl's lawsuit against Lithium Picnic.
As artists, we are obligated to speak out in whatever medium we have to keep things like this from happening. This matter is made more upsetting because Lithium Picnic is an artist most of us respect and admire. We want to help.
The goal of this site is to help organize the efforts of the many supporters of the Lithium Picnic Legal Fund. Contests, events, and fundraisers will be posted and organized here. If we know what's going on we can get involved. We can move for change. We will make a difference.

Banner for the week of 9/24/07

As operator of this site, I had not planned on doing a banner.
But a picture is worth a thousand words, and when I received this image from a recovered hard drive belonging to the photographer Dave Davidson I wanted to share it. To me, this photo evokes a secret sanctuary welcoming those in need of refuge. That is what I hope this site can become. A refuge for artists in need of solace and a means for those with the ability to help their fellows in need to do so. Philip Warner and his legal battles are the reason this site was created and the beneficiary of the funds we hope to raise, but my fondest wish is that as we take these steps to help one of our own we look at those standing beside us. Let this work continue long after Philip wins his legal battle. This world may be a cold, brutal place, but when we take the opportunity to do what we can when wrong is being done I hope there will always be this sense of community to help warm us all.
