Like putting the FUN back in FUNeral, we have decided to encourage the creation of art-with a fucking vengeance. If the right to create is to be threatened we'll make it bigger, badder, and waaaay better than before. And if that  isn't doin it for ya, we decided that a great way to raise money, strengthen the artistic community, and foster positive, productive relationships between artists is contests. Nothing gets the creative juices going like the desire to out-art the competition. And we can't think of a better way to raise money for the legal fund than to get artists to do the two things they are best at: making art, and feeding their egos.

We want you to do both.

The Game:

Create a team: There is no limit as to how many people can be involved. There is no limit to how many teams an artist can join. Models, photographers, stylists, graphic designers-everyone is welcome. Apnea and LP can NOT  be on your team.

Get the Shot: Shoot whatever, however you want. Seriously. Get crazy. Obviously, the more produced, stylized, POLISHED the shot looks the better it's odds at winning. Keep in mind, as the contest is to benefit the LP legal fund, judges will tend to be attracted to that type of style. But fuck it, do your thing.

No time? No problem!!

These pieces DO NOT have to be created specifically for the contest. Any image may be submitted with the permission of all involved in it's creation and with the proper literature.

Submit the Shots: Teams can submit as many shots as they would like. A $25 donation is requested in order to enter the shots into the contest. This money goes to the legal fund. Submitted art will be displayed on THIS SITE without credit until the contest is judged. After a winner is named, the team members names will be added to their showing...teams are asked to submit a note, essay, or some form of literature to accompany their submission. Each team member should be introduced, quoted, and inspirations and feelings expressed.

Deadline for submissions:  October 30th. 2008

Winner will be announced on midnight, October 31st. Cheesy, yeah. But so fun!

The Goal:

All entries and artist's notes will be combined into a high quality coffee table book for sale on this site, and others. Again, we know where the money will be going from the book sales. The winning submission will become the cover of the book. Individual prints will be for sale as well.

We are trying to make money. Then we want to make some more.

To enter: Send your submission to PayPlease@freelithiumpicnic.com

We will display your piece in the contest gallery and get your payment information for your submission donation! It's easy!!
